July Topic is Career Success

I have spent 15+ years in Corporate America at some of the biggest brands. I am excited to pass along some of my stories and key learnings to you. These may not be the best fit for everyone, especially entrepreneurs. This is from the perspective of a mid-level manager in a large corporation of over 600 employees.

I know first hand, it is hard to be happy when your job is not going well. Once at a job, I worked 70 hours a week, worked on weekends and holidays, my employees hated me, and my boss sexually harassed me. What a toxic place to be! I was unhealthy, unhappy, stressed, and tired. I had no life and the only thing I did was sleep and iron my work clothes. I don’t want you to be in this same situation and I don’t want you to feel the pain in your life away from work that is caused by a job, manager, or employees.

Some of the topics we explore during this Career Month include: Networking, How To Get Promoted, When to Leave a Company, and Using Your Strengths. I hope this helps you navigate the right path for you, do meaningful work, and get the recognition and pay that you deserve.

Me at a small but meaningful conference in 2024 in North Carolina. I am so grateful we can wear sneakers with suits now! I wore heels in my 20’s, but these tender ankles could not take it now!
